THE SIGNATURE XIHE I is part of AKKI® Founder Series. This statement piece gave birth to the brand in 2021. Cut into 75+ pieces of brocade strips featuring high mandarin collar, genuine lambskin details. Inspired by Japanese minimalism, "Wabi", 5,000 years of Chinese history, and the active, ever-changing lifestyle of New York City. Cropped, light, and fitted. This piece remains to be versatile and can be dressed up or down.

Inspiration behind designing this jacket?
AKKI: This piece was part of my Fashion Institute of Technology senior thesis collection "East meets West". When i was 18, I had my first fashion internship in Guiyang, China. I studied with a designer that focused on the 56 minority groups of china and their fashion aesthetics. I remember walking into the fabric district, and there was SO much brocade. Such rich prints filled with so much story, heritage, and nostalgic energy. You see it and you're instantly like "WOAH". However, you only see this fabric on dresses and evening wear, pieces you'd never wear on a daily. I saw an opportunity to modernize brocade. At the end of the day, luxury should never compromise comfort. Luxury means FEELING GOOD. This piece means the most to me. I named it after my grandpa, which coincidentally is also the name for the Goddess of Light.
My go-to outfit would be to wear all monochromatic underneath & top it off with this statement piece with crazy jewelry. Sexy, confident and comfortable. It's truly 1 of 1 and you can go anywhere with it. Sweats & sneakers, red carpet, performance, dress up or down. This piece is definitely for someone that knows what they want and isn't afraid to express themselves. More color ways coming soon.
